Capadur Wood Chronograph

Maintenance intervals of coated wooden facades

Wood needs maintenance. But what intervals are necessary for maintenance? Previously, there were no orientation aids for application workers. And once the first damage is detectable, it is really already too late. In order that maintenance intervals for coated wooden components can be estimated correctly in future Caparol has developed a consultation instrument in co-operation with the subsidiary company Synthesa: the Capadur Wood Chronograph.

For coated wooden facades in exterior areas.

The professional consultation instrument can be set exactly to the relevant building and it takes into account all the relevant parameters:

  • Cardinal orientation
  • Type of mounting of the facade boards
  • Cut length of the wood from the stock
  • Wood surface
  • Type of coating

Once all parameters are set the recommended maintenance intervals relating to the building can be read off. In this way optimum maintenance and professional customer consultancy are ensured.

Correct intervals – optimum maintenance

The chronograph includes a comprehensive booklet in which the parameters to be set are precisely explained. The objective is not only to generate a better awareness of realistic maintenance intervals, but also to make clear to the customer in the consultation the effect the construction, wood quality and other aspects have – that the durability and therefore also the maintenance intervals are significantly affected.

On an existing building the application worker has no influence on the construction and quality of the wood, but he can optimise the result with his recommendation. With the Wood Chronograph maintenance work can be planned in future individually and specifically to the building.
